Everybody needs a voice: Something to say, and someone to hear it. My name is Reka. As a poet and writer, I have always been a creature of the imagination. A believer in the importance of trying to say what it means to be human. A lover of true things with the caveat that truth comes in many forms and is ever-evolving. I have found that language is inadequate for expressing what it means to be human. It is helpful to use any and every tool to communicate -- whether we hope to share who we are and what we care about, to talk about what moves us and how it feels to be moved, to relay our moment-to-moment, the ever-constant Now, or to convey how we are stricken by beauty, loss, or melody. Words, music, paint, ink, brushes, guitars, pixels, film, fiber, skin, fabric, chords, dissonance, cacophony. Mixed media. Multi-instrumentalists. Poets. Artists. Human beings.
I hope at this site to share my own poetry, photography, art commentary, and fragments as well as to encourage artistic community, a place where writing can happen collaboratively.
